I went to the premiere for The Good Life in Tampa, and it was a total mind-blowing experience. As soon as we get to the skate park, there’s an art show going on, eight million little weifs skating and heaps of drunken lurks.

I knew that most of these kids were anticipating 50-stair rail back lipslides and a bunch of tapped-out punk rockers with man-cleavage. Little did they know they were about to be put-down on some REAL SOUTHEAST SKATEBOARDING.

As soon as The Good Life starts, you’re already held captive by DANGO (skater Mike Mancini), who is guaranteed to have your paid attention. Taking showers with gutter water and eatin’ out of dumpsters, and such. Hah. Jimmy Lannon begins the video off right (!) with iller stee than you’ve seen in a dream. Everyone in this skates to a song that matches their personality and they’re not even fuckin’ with rap on here. Lots of dope skating - including dudes from MIA Skateshop - artwork and a lot of subliminal little skirts that keep you into it. Florida is definitely represented well with this one.

Don’t forget to check out the bonus features you jokers. There are plenty more skate clips, a Control Skateboarding segment and, at least, eight minutes of raw footage of DANGO performing TOTAL CARNAGE!!! In NYC. See for yourselves. I’m outta here like Vladimir.
