I wrote some other shit about how this video is the first one in a long time to capture the essence of skateboarding and some other sentimental blubbering that really didn’t make sense and made my knee jerk up and down and want to go get hammered and bet on dogs in TJ. It’s not worth comparing to other videos, because it’s in a different league, kind of like the Girl videos are on some next shit - Matt Eversole’s videos have always been there too (eBay the Tiltmode Army videos, one and two, if you need proof).

With a crew that’s turned into a company and yielded a video like Bag of Suck, this man deserves to rest on his laurels for a moment, but he probably won’t.

The we-got-other-shit-going-on-but-skateboarding’s-what-we’re-best-at attitude may be what makes each part of this video more than some dude doing tricks and some guy putting a hip-hop instrumental or something behind it in his living room editing suite. This is exactly what a video should be, there’s real emotion behind it, not just excitement; and the whole time you get the impression that they don’t give a fuck about how good or bad or whatever they’re doing is. There’s no formula to this shit. It’s love, no matter how gay it sounds; plus a shit-load of talent. If you skateboard for more than a fashion statement and haven’t seen this video yet, it’s the one you’ve been waiting for.
